Polo Triumphs
In a thrilling display of athleticism and sportsmanship, team Barbados emerged victorious in key matches during the Polo season. The series, which ran from February 3rd to March 23rd, witnessed Barbados triumphing over Villages and Cheshire teams. Additionally, Diamonds International, in collaboration with Polo Ralph Lauren, presented the prizes for the Cheshire Vs. Barbados tournament. Polo, a longstanding tradition in Barbados, has been attracting tourists to the island for over two decades, with Diamonds International lending its unwavering support since the inception of this exhilarating sport.
A Swing for a Cause
Continuing its commitment to philanthropy, Diamonds International lent its support to the Substance Abuse Foundation Golf Tournament held on March 22, 2024. For over 20 years, Diamonds International has stood behind this noble cause, which brings together communities for a day of camaraderie and fun. The event witnessed participation from 14 teams, with congratulations extended to the deserving winners and a heartfelt thank you to corporate Barbados for their unwavering support. Diamonds International is proud to announce that the event has surpassed the fundraising target of $100,000 in support of the Substance Abuse Foundation. The proceeds from the tournament will be directed towards funding the facilities of Verdun and Marina House, supporting the Teen Rehabilitation Program, in addition to many other vital initiatives aimed at providing comprehensive care and support for those struggling with substance abuse, with the total amount raised contributing significantly to their ongoing efforts.
The Substance Abuse Foundation plays a crucial role in providing assistance to individuals affected by substance abuse, as well as their extended families and communities. Through its programs and services, the foundation offers support, resources, and guidance to those in need, helping to promote recovery and wellness. This achievement underscores Diamonds International’s commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
Riding the Waves at Barbados Surf Pro
In addition to land-based sports, the Barbados Surf Pro took center stage from March 18th to March 24th, captivating audiences with adrenaline-pumping action and awe-inspiring performances. The World Surf League, Live Like Zander Junior Pro in memory of Zander Venezia and The Barbados Surf Pro QS5000 professional surfing events saw over 200 surfers, representing 19 countries take to the world famous Soup Bowl in an epic competition, a WSL QS5000.
