Henry as Partner, effective February 1st, 2026, further strengthening the firm’s leadership in commercial and cross-border advisory work. Ruth’s practice spans commercial lending, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and cross-border advisory mandates, with a particular emphasis on high-value transactions within Barbados’ financial services sector. Ruth joined Chancery Chambers in 2020, bringing with her a wealth of experience in property and estates law. Her strong technical foundation continues to inform her multidisciplinary approach to complex commercial matters and plays a pivotal role in guiding the firm’s response to evolving international regulatory frameworks.
Managing Partner, Giles Carmichael, highlighted Ruth’s contribution to professional development within the firm, noting her work in spearheading the firm’s internship programme and contributing to its internal training and mentorship initiatives. Ruth holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (Honours) from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus and a Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School, Trinidad. She earned a Master’s degree with Distinction from University College London, where her dissertation focused on cryptocurrency regulation in Barbados. A Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP), she has also completed professional training in loan documentation and tax treaties. Beyond her practice, Ruth is a keen writer and thought leader, regularly publishing on corporate and commercial law topics and contributing to professional discourse through articles and conference presentations.
