The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank)

The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) is a Pan-African multilateral financial institution established by treaty to promote and finance intra- and extra-African trade.

For over 30 years, it has driven the expansion and diversification of African trade through innovative financing tools that support industrialisation and economic growth.

Operating as a profit-oriented and socially responsible institution, Afreximbank has evolved into a group entity including the Fund for Export Development in Africa (FEDA) and AfrexInsure. It also launched the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS), adopted by the African Union to support the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).

In 2022, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) members became treaty partners, gaining access to its products, services and initiatives.

Additional initiatives include the Afreximbank African Trade Centre (AATC), Afreximbank Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) and African Quality Assurance Centre (AQAC).

Headquartered in Cairo, Egypt, Afreximbank maintains branches in Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Côte d'Ivoire, Uganda, Cameroon, and Barbados.
