Located in Durants, Christ Church, just off the ABC Highway, the Barbados Golf Club is easily accessible from most parts of the island. The course was re-designed in 2000 by Ron Kirby, globally-respected golf architect, who set out to create a fair, challenging and pleasurable game for golfers of all levels. Three years later, the course was sanctioned by the PGA European Tour to host a PGA Seniors Tournament. Since then the club has hosted numerous championships, including the Caribbean Junior Championships, the Eastern Caribbean Championships and the Barbados Open.
The 6,805-yard, par-72, 18-hole, links-style course meanders across gently undulating landscape, with wide open fairways and superb greens. The course is made up of two ‘returning nines’ that finish into an expansive triple green, dramatically wrapped around the first of two small lakes bordered with mature trees.
With very competitive green fees and rentals, Barbados Golf Club is considered by many to be the best value for money course in Barbados. With its open-plan Bar & Restaurant, overlooking the 18th green and lake, it is certainly a great place to relax and enjoy post-golf refreshments.
