Barbados-based startup MediRevu was shortlisted by the World Entrepreneurship Forum (WEFO) as one of five finalists to pitch to its CrowdDen VC panel. The 7th edition of the forum took place in Lyon, France last month.

Created by EMLYON Business School in 2008, the main objective of the Forum is to develop economic and social entrepreneurship, the creation of innovative businesses, the emergence of entrepreneurial cities and the way in which people are educated in entrepreneurship.

The Forum awarded prizes to four entrepreneurs for their impact on society and their capacity to change the world. The 2014 laureates are Rodrigo Baggio (Brazil), Bertil Hult (Sweden/Switzerland), Micky and Renuka Jagtiani (India), and Rapelang Rabana (Botswana).

Poised for success

We featured MediRevu just before the forum and discussed their participation in the business acceleration programme with Jordan-based investment firm Oasis500. Their aim is to improve post-discharge patient care for persons living with diabetes. The MediRevu platform delivers timely reminders to patients, through a mobile application, which help them to stay on track with medication prescriptions and lifestyle improvements.
