At the press briefing held at The Fairmont Royal Pavilion, Guy Bedarida comments with a smile: “I am very honoured to be in Barbados and I am very happy because in a way I feel at home; Bali is an island that has similarities with Barbados except that we may not have such a beautiful ocean”.
Guy further adds: “I am in Barbados because I am here to visit some special customers who are collectors of our jewellery”.
Jacob Hassid, Managing Director, Diamonds International thinks brands like John Hardy are very important for Barbados: “We at DI represent many brands, but not all of them have such a wide range of success. The JH collection is definitely one of the most successful brands we carry, the reason for this is that it speaks to so many people. It speaks to the locals, it speaks to the visitors, it is accepted by Europeans and Americans, it speaks to people with different disposable incomes and that is the beauty: anyone can own a John Hardy piece. Apart from that it is a very innovative. Diamonds International is always looking to bring to Barbados well known brands. It lifts our image, it speaks to people about what we cater, the way this hotel is a phenomenal piece of real estate but not only because it is beautiful but because it has a strong brand name that assists Barbados with the marketing. And that’s what we (DI) do when we have a partner with such brand strength. They help us with marketing not only DI but Barbados. John Hardy promotes us internationally….they see the niche that Barbados represents to their business.”
General Manager for John Hardy in the Caribbean, Fabrizio Cocchiano commented that, Barbados ranks third in the Caribbean for John Hardy sales which is fantastic when you compare Barbados’ size to other larger competitive destinations in the region.
Guy Bedarida, Creative Director and Head Designer of John Hardy made a special visit to Barbados for a very exclusive personal appearance and showing of his limited edition collections at Diamonds International, Limegrove Lifestyle Centre on Wednesday February 12, 2014.
Guests were treated to one of kind pieces and collections that are not found in regular points of sale around the world. These collections are only presented at special events and we in Barbados were treated to one such event by luxury brand retailer Diamonds International.
One of the signature collections is Cinta, which means “love” in Indonesia, was the show stopper of the evening; the ladies adored and then adorned themselves in the precious pieces. Cinta is the rarest collection of haute joaillerie from John Hardy.
To add to this magnificent event, Guy inscribed his name on customer pieces right there in the boutique. What a delight for many John Hardy owners and fans!
There were two silent auctions held on the evening and the monies raised were presented to the Ellerton Primary School and Because of Jenna Trust. Diamonds International extends warm thanks to all who contributed.
