Distinguished Oxford Professor, Ken Mayhew is the featured speaker at the next BEF quarterly entrepreneurs’ forum, presented by Co-Champions of the Education pillar Keith Miller and Derek Browne and their pillar team. With the theme of “Educating our youth for the future”, Professor Mayhew’s impressive background is ideally suited for this topic.
Ken Mayhew is Professor of Education and Economic Performance at Oxford University and Fellow and Tutor in Economics at Pembroke College, Oxford. He is also Director of SKOPE, an ESRC designated research centre on Skills, Knowledge and Organisational Performance. Founded in 1998, it is a multi-disciplinary centre based in the Oxford University Departments of Economics and Education and in Cardiff University’s School of Social Sciences. Professor Mayhew was also a member of Her Majesty’s Treasury. In 1989 and 1990 he was Economic Director at the UK National Economic Development Office, and has worked as a consultant for many private and public sector organisations at home and abroad, including the European Commission, the OECD, the DBIS and the DTI. His main research interests are in policy analysis, labour economics, human resource management and the economics of education/training and has been published widely in these areas.
This presentation will be of great interest to all educators, trainers, human resource managers, youth organisations and businesses in general. The forum is scheduled for Thursday July 5th at the Plantation Garden Theatre, St. Lawrence Main Road, Christ Church from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
