Claire Jordan 185x280 Claire Jordan is Scotiabank’s New Director, Business SupportScotiabank is pleased to announce the appointment of Claire Jordan to the position of Director, Business Support Scotiabank Caribbean East reporting to Sean Albert, the Managing Director. Effective November 1, 2012 Claire will be responsible for the daily operations in the Managing Director’s Office for Finance, Marketing and Product Delivery, Compliance, Real Estate, and the System Support Centre. She is the first Barbadian to hold this position within the Scotiabank Caribbean East operation.

Claire joined Scotiabank in March 2011 as Senior Manager, Marketing with over 15 years’ experience in corporate strategy, business management and marketing, spanning local and international markets, particularly throughout the Americas, the Caribbean, South and Central America. Through her career path, Claire held very senior management positions in the consumer goods, services, leisure and tourism marketing industries.

Sean Albert, Managing Director Caribbean East commented: “Claire has done an excellent job in building Scotiabank’s brand regionally and strengthening our corporate communications. We wish Claire all the best in her new role and are confident that she will continue to influence positive change in the organization.”

Speaking about her appointment, Claire commented: “I am excited to take on this broader role in the organization where I will be more directly involved in the business operations of the Bank. As business support, our role is key, as it underpins the performance of our business units and branches in Barbados, throughout the Eastern Caribbean and St. Maarten, strengthening processes and facilitating, so that our teams can continue to excel in their respective areas.”

A former Barbados scholar, Claire completed a double degree in International Business and Languages/Certificat d’Administration des Entreprises in Grenoble, France and Heriot- Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland.
