The Trainers and Trainees in front of the Automotive Art Mixing Bank
Automotive Art opened its training room doors in Wildey to facilitate Technical Vehicle Refinishing Training for some of its distribution partners. The class of eight included partners from Tortola, Canada, and a most recent addition to the team from the US.
This training covered the wide range of products Automotive Art offers. The Automotive Art Technical Training Team spent the 4 days covering in-depth details of all products, theory and practical, from pre-treatment to colour matching.
Dominic Rivest, Brand Manager for Automotive Art at AB Express in Quebec, Canada was impressed with Automotive Art’s complete product range and referred to it as “everything you need to use – from A to Z”.
The partners-turned-students were excited throughout the training and were most impressed with Automotive Art’s new Base Coat system – Motobase LV. Curtis Hellmen of Canadian Automotive Paint Supplies in Alberta was no exception.
“I really like all the products they have. Their filler works great. Their polyesters are fantastic and their new line of base coat [Motobase LV] is fantastic! With all this additional product knowledge, I can’t wait to get back up to Canada to really start pushing sales!”
Motobase LV is a Low Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Compliant Solvent Base Coat System, which is compliant with the strict Low VOC environmental laws being implemented in some of the US states, and Canada. This comes on the heels of Automotive Art’s recent and rapid expansion into the US. Executive Chairman, Dereck Foster, expressed his excitement for the company’s development of Motobase LV and being able to host training in Barbados.
“This system is not only Low VOC compliant, but it saves our partners time and money using 30% less toners than most other systems. Not to mention accurately matching over 150,000 colours with our colour matching software. We are launching in New Jersey next week and the team there is really excited to work with this system!”
He went on to say that the company was really pleased to host their partners for training in Automotive Art’s world class training facility right here in the middle of paradise.
The 4 days concluded with a colour matching test where the attendees put what they learnt to the test. Motie Ram Kanhai from Tortola referred to the colour matching as perfect.
“We were taught how to colour match, we mixed the colours and put them to the test; everyone’s was flawless.”
The attendees enjoyed a “last-lap” social dinner on the West Coast on the last night, to wrap up an overall exciting experience.
