“Our 1.4 acre property sits right on the ocean and boasts some of the most incredible views I’ve ever seen.” – Peter Higney, Director of New Business Development, Nikki Beach Worldwide
In 1998, entrepreneur Jack Penrod introduced Nikki Beach to the world, the first and original luxury beach club concept that combines the elements of music, dining, entertainment, fashion, film and art into one. Today, the Nikki Beach concept has transcended its international venues and grown into a global, multifaceted luxury lifestyle and hospitality brand.
After 19 successful years, Nikki Beach is set to open its 14th location at Port Ferdinand, Barbados, at the end of 2017. Peter Higney, Director of New Business Development, Nikki Beach Worldwide, was recently in Barbados to host a Nikki Beach pop-up event, and he shared his thoughts on what makes Barbados the ideal location for their global luxury lifestyle and hospitality brand.
Barbados Checks all the Boxes!
After 15 years of success at Nikki Beach Saint Barth, Jack Penrod, Founder and Owner of Nikki Beach, decided it was time to expand our brand in the Caribbean. Nikki Beach Barbados marks our second location in this area. After targeted research and time well spent on the island, we knew that Barbados would meet all of our Nikki Beach requirements. We look closely at everything from seasonal trends to weather patterns to make our determinations when moving into a new region. Jack, his wife Lucia and I returned to the island several times to do our due diligence, and we are all in agreement regarding this new venture.
A Proven Business Model
Nikki Beach is still a family owned and operated business, so everything we do is handled with the utmost attention to detail. We constantly refer back to our past experiences as a company over these 19 years to help guide our decisions for the future. I’m pleased to say that Nikki Beach has launched successful beach club properties all over the world, and we look forward to bringing our proven business model to Barbados at the end of the year.
The Nikki Beach Experience
As the first luxury beach club on the island, we hope to differentiate ourselves with our sought after cuisine, beachside dining, upbeat music, memorable events and ongoing activities. Nikki Beach combines various elements of focus including music, dining, entertainment, fashion, film and art into one to create an engaging atmosphere and we plan to activate in all of those categories once the location has opened.
We will infuse some of the local Barbados culture and influence and combine that with our company motto, “Celebration of Life,” to create a fun and inviting Nikki Beach experience. We want our guests to feel welcome and at ease, and Nikki Beach is a great place to create lasting memories with friends.
And last, but certainly not least, our 1.4 acre property sits right on the ocean and boasts some of the most incredible views I’ve ever seen.
An Inviting Ambience Paired With Delectable Cuisine
Each Nikki Beach location is unique in the sense that we do our best to embrace the local culture and amenities within our Nikki Beach brand. All locations, for example, use white design elements with wood accents, but the layout of each property varies based on the square footage of the space and the natural highlights that we want to feature. As mentioned above, our beachfront location and over the top views make the Barbados property so incredible.
In terms of cuisine, we’re not only serving lunch, as we do in many of our locations, but will also offer guests dinner service. Sixty percent of our menu will include Nikki Beach’s signature dishes, while 40 percent will have a more local flair and will be developed by the Barbados Chef de Cuisine under the guidance of our Nikki Beach Worldwide Director of Culinary Operations, Chef Brian Molloy. We’ll be infusing a lot of the popular seafood in the area into the menu such as flying fish and barracuda.
