Barbadians will hear more about how and where to place their financial assets to accumulate maximum benefits regionally and globally when the 8th Annual Fortress Investment Forum is held next month. The event, which is open to Fortress investors and members of the public, will be held at the Frank Collymore Hall on Thursday, March 8, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. under the theme: “2018 and Beyond: Where now for Investors in a fully priced world?” Discussions will focus on regional and global investment market updates as well as the performance and outlook for Fortress’ range of funds. There will also be a conversational-style exchange with leading economists and bankers on the topic: “Currencies: Everything you Wondered but were Afraid to Ask” as well as a question and answer session with special guests and the Fortress team. Investment Director at Fortress, Roger Cave, explained that this year’s forum will be an informative one for investors and potential investors seeking greater insight on how to manage their investments in challenging times. “Despite challenges economically in Barbados and the Caribbean, and high asset prices in many other parts of the world, it is still possible to find attractively valued investments. However, they are certainly not everywhere. We expect the discussions around this at the forum to be insightful and practical,” he explained. Mr. Cave added that overall equity investments at Fortress were expected to see a positive year in 2018 and that Fortress continued to seek ways to maximize benefits for its investors. “We expect gains this year will be achieved through our policy of disciplined value investing, achieving growth for our individual and institutional investors,” he noted. Fortress manages more than BBD $650 million across 13 different funds with regional and global investments.
